Tonight I'm playing with the Talbert Big Band in Winona. I always forget to post performances, but today I remembered!
Getting excited for our upcoming roadtrip to include masterclasses in Kansas City, Houston, Austin and the Satchmo Jazz Fest in New Orleans! I'll be bringing a special trumpet in honor of the Satchmo fest...

Hmm...I don't see the logic in moving away from brass to non-metallic materials. You're saying I should moving away from cutting metal. What facts, experiments or evidence brought you to this conclusion? And what are "high performance materials"? Also, what "more efficient ways of creating complex shapes" am I missing? Casting is inaccurate, deformation and shrinking are major problems. Injection molding would require plastics/resins which are not suitable for brass instruments and once again are not economical to create complex shapes. One mold could take months to produce before the part could even be tested. Making changes could take another month...slow and very expensive. So what am I missing here?
