Trumpet Shipping Guidelines

Please follow these instructions when packing and shipping your Harrelson Trumpet.

1. Secure all slides with nylon bands

Picture
Do NOT use exposed rubber bands or tape, as these may damage brass.

2. Foam Blocks

Picture
Insert foam blocks between leadpipe and bell.  These prevent damage to the bell in the case of a dropped box. The bell end is the first to receive force in a fall.  Even a small impact on the bell end may cause damage. Use the included foam spacers in daily storage and transportation of your trumpet. Your trumpet will thank you!

3. Wrap trumpet in foam sheet

Picture
Wrap firmly, then tape both ends.

4. Wrap center area with bubble wrap

Picture
Wrap and tape. We recommend 12" wide bubble wrap. It is very important to leave both ends of the trumpet uncovered in this step. DO NOT wrap bell end.

5. Place trumpet in box

Picture
Place in box ensuring bubble wrap presses firmly against the sides of the box. The bubble wrap will absorb most of the impact in a fall preventing damage to the bell.

6. Add packing peanuts

Picture
Fill box with packing peanuts around the parts of the trumpet including the bell and receiver. Leave enough space to close the top without excessive force.

7. Tape box

Picture
Tape the center and the ends of the box closed.

8. Address box and ship insured

Picture
Address the package, insure and ship.

We recommend the following shipping services:
- USPS Express (Includes tracking) or Express Registered if insured valued over $5000 - best for speed and low cost insurance
- FedEx 2 Day is a good blend of speed and value, but runs at least double the cost of USPS Express
- USPS Parcel Post or FedEx Ground, slow and insurance is very expensive
- Please ship your trumpet with full value insurance.

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER TO AVOID DAMAGE:

Picture
- Do NOT ship your trumpet in a case.  This adds weight increasing the chance of damage.
- Always use foam blocks.
- Position your trumpet vertically in the box.
- Insure your trumpet.

Keep the original packaging materials when you take delivery.  It will be invaluable when you need to ship your trumpet to us while trading up for a NEW Harrelson Trumpet!
