Charlton Singleton
Charlton is a founding member of the Grammy award winning group Ranky Tanky. And he is an acclaimed trumpeter, vocalist, band leader, composer, arranger and an all-around great human.
I remember the day Charlton walked into my shop to explore building a trumpet that matched his vision in terms of timbre, projection, and ease of play. It was April of 2016 when he flew to Denver and blew my mind. He was soft spoken, professional, and an amazing trumpet player and musician. I vividly recall thinking he may be the most musical brass player I have ever met.
Yeah, Charlton is worth my time and yours. I encourage you to click the link here and buy his Crossroads album, then pick up the Ranky Tanky debut album and immerse yourself in pure Gullah culture. I'm honored to know Charlton and humbled by his innate ability to light up a room with his smile, singing, and joyful trumpet magic.

I am loving the all new Bravura by Harrelson Trumpets! It plays and sounds excellent, like all the other Harrelson trumpets... except that the Bravura is significantly lighter weight, less expensive, and uses precision 3D printing for the nylon bracing, finger rings, and even the stainless steel leadpipe! Amazing! The photos show it assembled for my own personal use configuration (with the D shaped tuning slide and without the thumb ring on the first valve tuning slide). This high-tech trumpet is the brilliant brainchild of Jason Harrelson. Great job, Jason!

Discovered you in 2005....you rebuilt my Besson 600.....then you build me my dream horn, the Bravura....never looked back, but keep looking forward!

I got my Harrelson Bravura V @harrelsontrumpets last Friday and played it at New Creation Church @newcreationslc in Salt Lake City on Sunday. You can find the video on YouTube by searching 'New Creation Church.' I'm speechless about how it sounds, but the experience was incredible. Thanks to Jason and the team for crafting an amazing trumpet and to @prodriguezmusic for the recommendation. The trumpet flugelhorn hyper mouthpiece is incredible. More videos and pics coming! To all trumpet players, trust me, start with the mouthpiece - the 5MM is worth it.

Jason, I thought about interchanging leadpipe components and after the informative zoom last night, decided to experiment. Small to large! Wow! First i configured the #4 VGR, 1st section #4 leadpipe with the #8 leadpipe sections and I was using the spectatone blue mouthpiece configuration. The resonance and tonality was amazing, the notes were ringing. The Muse opened up, came alive. I was able to leap from the low register to the high register, almost effortlessly. Next, I configured the #4 VGR with the rest of the leadpipe sections #8. Seemed even better; survey still out; could've still been in shock/awe, from the first test/ configuration. The air on both setups seems to flow through the horn unrestricted/ unrestrained. I must of dialed into my internal pressure.

What trumpet players are sharing...
Hi Jen and team!
My Bravura arrived safely today! I got to try it already and even just from the first notes I can tell it is a beast. I am so happy!! I am looking forward to acclimating to it over the next few weeks. Thank you to Jason and your entire team for offering such an amazing and beautiful Trumpet! I’ve been reading about Harrelson Trumpets for quite a few years and always wanted to try one. A while back I got to order a yellow and blue SpectraTone mouthpiece on the kickstarter campaign and I really liked them. Boy I sure am glad you offered that kickstarter campaign and I was able to sign up, as well as this one for the Bravura. That is so great that you offered that. Just my first impressions, but this Trumpet dances circles around my old Scodwell and any Bach or Getzen I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I’ve been working so hard all these years. It literally unlocked a part of my register that I have had trouble with for years, so I say boo to all the guys out there saying a horn can’t make a difference. I don’t know about everyone else but this is definitely going to be a game changer for me, so thank you so much for what you guys do.
You guys are fantastic!!

The HT 17 remains a superb, well balanced, highly efficient horn and it is getting more play time than ever these days! I an currently performing 2-4 days a week and this horn never fails me. My current primary project is a Motown-Stax R&B/Funk/Soul band and I am the horn section! The HT 17 is warm, dark and smoky on Smoky Robinson ballads and yet bright and brassy on Stevie Wonder and Temptations power tunes! For a "prototype" I would say you hit the mark with the HT 17, at least for me! Saving up for a flugelhorn and it will most certainly be a Harrelson (or at least a Harrelson-modified instrument)! Keep up the great work and keep posting pics and news in the Harrelson FB page!

Hi Jason. Thanks for the reply I will look out for the new finger buttons and place an order. By the way your trim kit really does work. I purchased the kit a few years ago for my Yamaha Wayne Bergeron Horn which is a pretty light weight horn. Your kit definitely adds mass to the centre of the trumpet making it feel slightly heavier which I like but also centres the sound much more. It also helps to darken the sound without sacrificing range. The horn when played with a straight lead mouthpiece (I use a GR Bergeron studio) can be almost like a laser beam and very piercing. But with the trim kit it has more warmth and less of a clinical sound which I have sometimes felt Yamaha's can have. The combination of Horn, mouthpiece and trim have become my standard set up. I play in pit orchestras and this horn and your kit have now done Les Miserable, Phantom and Crazy for You in London. Also has been used in the UK version of dancing with the stars. I have become a bit of a bore extolling the virtues of Harrelson.
Thanks from Steve in the UK.
