Last night I was front and center at The Dakota for Kermit Ruffins & The BBQ Swingers.... The energy in the room was contagious... My favorite was listening to Kermit scat.... I've seen him before but never in this intimate of a setting.... most shows I've been to were on an outdoor stage... it was nice to finally hear all the layers of sound in the group. "We partying" is Kermit's new mantra.... he said... "ok... time to clear all the tables out of here and start dancing" ... a perfect appetizer before our trip to Satchmo Summerfest on Thursday! Kermit is playing the festival again this year too! Oh.... and there's still time to see him here in Minneapolis... he's playing 2 more shows at The Dakota TONIGHT! 7pm and 9pm. http://www.dakotacooks.com/event/kermit-ruffins-the-barbecue-swingers/2013-07-29/
