I'd like to officially welcome the newest member of the Harrelson Trumpets team... Christine Palmer... Christine has spent her days so far shadowing each of us to learn more about Harrelson Trumpets and the daily ins and outs of our business... I think she's been having fun so far... but here's what she had to say... Hey everyone!
My name is Christine and I'm the newest face around Harrelson Trumpets here. I'm a trumpet player from the MN area, currently working on my graduate degree at the University of Colorado. If you're a trumpet player, (and you probably are, if you're reading this!) then Harrelson Trumpets must seem like a place brimming over with experimentation, creativity, and courageous endeavors. Well, I'm telling you that the reality is no different! Although I'm just beginning to learn how things work around here, it really is inspiring to see this process of dreaming, designing, and manufacturing come about. Jason just never stops thinking! He always seems to be working on 20 projects - creating custom metal work and inventing ways to take the instrument to new heights, all while building each client's instrument by hand, taking care of his built-from-scratch business, and happily talking shop with anyone who walks in! It is like a candy shop to a science and music lover like me. James is always at the workbench too, completing the finishing touches on each instrument like an energizer bunny. Jen works in the office, reveling in her niche as artwork and website extraordinaire. And Paul helps connect all our clients with their ideal axe - while handling most other parts of the business. This summer, Jake is here as well to lend a hand with cleaning and prepping lots of trumpet parts - and to regale us with some wicked trumpet licks in the show room. :-) All in all, it is a fantastic environment and I am so excited to join the team! I look forward to getting to know many of you soon, Christine Palmer

We're very please to be participating in this year's Satchmo Summerfest again this year! Jason will be presenting Friday afternoon...
2pm - Satchmo’s Gear Trumpeter and custom trumpet designer and builder Jason Harrelson of Harrelson Trumpets - talks about the trumpets and mouthpieces used by Louis Armstrong – and how Jason believes they affected Armstrong’s sound. Jason has played the trumpet for years and founded Harrelson Trumpets when he was just twenty years old. He started by modifying student horns and selling them to friends. Harrelson then began to offer custom modifications for a few select customers, and his reputation grew. Jason is known for bringing new technology and exciting designs to his instruments. For more information click here We will also be donating the one of a kind Satchmo Summit Trumpet to the French Quarter Festivals ... all proceeds from the auction will go to the organization and future festivals! We are very proud to be a part of Satchmo Summerfest again this year! So... every day... I see hundreds of photos... watch dozens of videos... and read through a constant stream of news feeds... the one thing I have realized about all of this in the last few weeks... is that I see all of this but I am the only one that sees it... I try as best I can to share what comes across my desk... but I do most of that on my blog and on our facebook page. Well... I have come to be a little disappointed in facebook lately... because everything gets buried... and after a few weeks... information that was relevant is stuffed behind things that are less significant... in an effort to share more of what I see and also to have more of a permanent record... with the ability to reach those of you not even on facebook... I am making a NEWS FEED page... that will be an archive ... I am hoping to update it daily... with the highlights of what I see, read and hear via the world wide web of computers... that being said... if you are a client or student or performer... and you have a project, photo, video, etc. you would like to share with me... you can do one of two things... you can email it to me directly: [email protected]
I would appreciate if you could put "NEWS FEED" in the title along with your name... for ease of sorting... or feel free to leave comments right here on my blog or on the News Feed Page directly.... our clients are our biggest asset... and the reason we come in to work every day... so this page is as much about us as it is about you.... it's a win win... and it keeps us all motivated to see where are our horns are going and the amazing people that own them! So check out the NEWS FEED PAGE! And don't forget we're trying to assemble a client map! Send me your location... roger... 10-4... over and out! summer is half over... the other day i went into target and they had "back to school" supplies already set up... it's a little depressing... especially when it feels like things are just getting started. just some quick notes from my desk today... we released the Bravura "S" Model earlier this summer.... for more information on this (our only) fixed model instrument.... you can click here: http://whyharrelson.weebly.com/bravura-s.html Harrelson Trumpets client Cindy Bradley has had immense success in the last year.... we're proud to announce Cindy Bradley's album '' Unscripted '' once again goes #1 on the Smoothjazz album chart, After going #1 on it's commercial release Back in June 2011 the album as remained in the chart for 64 consecutive weeks, but yesterday Amazingly '' Unscripted '' went back to #1 once again.. Nice Ride Minneapolis is a non-profit organization which allows subscribers in the Twin Cities to essentially rent a bicycle at multiple locations around the city... and return at any location... at any time.... it's a program that is spreading like wildfire across the cities... and "NICE RIDE" is something you hear kids on the streets saying ... almost like... "cool" or "rad" .... seriously... it's a great program.... Harrelson Trumpets is proud to announce that one of our clients Tim Martin will be performing in the first ever "Nice Night" with the Belfast Cowboys... here's more information on this great summer event! As if the Twin Cities isn't bike-friendly enough as it is, we're putting on a series of Nice Nites, featuring bike-friendly locations, bike-friendly times (Thursday evenings as the sun sets), thirst-friendly offers from New Belgium Brewing (more on that below) and ear-friendly free live music. This Thursday, July 12th, from 7:30-9:00pm will be the first of the summer. We're holding it on The Midtown Greenway at the Elliot Avenue bridge. Music provided by The Belfast Cowboys. Beer specials all night long courtesy of New Belgium, and for Nice Ride members, the first New Belgium of the night is on us. We'll also be raffling: two tickets to the Cirque du Soleil show 'Dralion', as well as a pair ofJust Bare grill sets. Mmmm. And mark your calendars... we'll be doing more raffles, more free live music, more beer specials, more Nice Nites all through summer. Next up: Thursday July 19th at the Red Stag Supper Club, featuring Leverage Models, In One Wind, Farewell Circuit, and Al Church and State. Special thanks to New Belgium Brewing, The Current, and City Pages for supporting Nice Nites. We are also very excited to have Jake Baldwin working with us at the Harrelson Shop for the summer... he's even helped us out with a couple of videos already! I would also like to remind you all about our stellar trade in event we have going on right now.... as you know... we build the most amazing trumpets on the planet. ask anyone that's ever seen one, played one or owned one... and the answer is a resounding ... WOW.... so... i hear often from you guys out there something like this... i'm saving up... one of these days i'll be able to afford one... or... when i win the lottery... etc.... excuses, excuses, excuses.... well... now it's never been easier to get into a Harrelson Trumpet. we believe in our instruments... and we want you to have one too. so... we're offering a trade sale this summer that truly is an amazing deal. we will give you top dollar for your trumpet or trumpets... do you have instruments sitting in the closet that you NEVER play... you know who you are... or... do you currently play an instrument you've been wanting to upgrade but just haven't taken the time to sell it on ebay or don't know where to sell it or how to sell it... well... WE DO. we do it all the time. and because so many people know and trust our name... it's easier for us than it is for you. here's where you win on that... so... you say... jen, i don't have any money to put down on my dream horn. well... in most cases... all you have to do is send us your trade in trumpet and we will put you on the order list. you don't have to give us a dime until your trumpet is ready to ship...(our current wait time is around 4 months) and depending on what you order you might not owe much at all. THIS IS SO EXCITING to soooo many people. or... if you're in college or a world famous trumpet star and you only have one trumpet and there is no way you can part with it for any amount of time... then as long as you pay $500 as a deposit... we will put you on the list and complete your order and you won't have to ship us your trumpet (trade trumpet) until you receive your brand new Harrelson in the mail.... that sounds like a pretty awesome deal to me.... we also offer great trade in value on trim kits, mouthpieces etc... THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A HARRELSON TRUMPET ... it's never been easier... trust me Fill out this form to get a quote and find out how much trade value your trumpet/trumpets are worth toward your purchase... it's free! http://whyharrelson.weebly.com/summer-trade-in-event.html We are also doing our best to assemble a client map... if you own a Harrelson Trumpet... please take a moment to email me... tell me your name, make, model and where you live... I'd love to put you on the map!
