The Summit model was built in 2021, and traded towards a new Muse MMXX trumpet this month. Built as a great all around horn suitable for almost any playing situation including Jazz combo, symphonic band, big band, and lead, this VPS Summit features our Venturi Gap Receiver system that offers full adjustment of flexibility, slotting, air flow and resonance. Combined with our Modular Mouthpiece system, the player is guaranteed a perfect fit in all genres thanks to a completely adjustable instrument that can be fine tuned at any time.
I built this particular Summit with leadpipe 6 and bell 1X to create an incredibly versatile trumpet that will sound warm and vibrant in all genres, but especially for players who want to utilize less air flow and gain efficiency. The style "R" tuning slide and bell crook are the most efficient options we have ever offered, and were a considerable upgrade when this trumpet was originally ordered. I removed a few dings in the slide crooks and bell flare, which are mentioned in the video review below. The raw brass finish can be preserved to look like new by applying oil or carnauba wax.
