Improve technique faster than any other method!
Pocket valves take your performance to perfect in hours, not months.
Pocket Valves give Brass Musicians the freedom to practice their instruments when and where playing is not practical. By visualizing your practice session while fingering through each scale, study, or musical passage, you build skills far more effective than any other method. And you'll appreciate the precision machining and engineering of this beautiful example of modern manufacturing.

Pocket Valves were specifically designed to learn fingerings faster than when playing the trumpet.
The springs are intentionally stronger than a trumpet to reinforce the physical action, which in turn will create a new type of memory that will translate to playing trumpet. In addition, we offer heavier springs that will work your muscles (and muscle memory) even harder.
We recommend practicing with your Pocket Valves at least 5 minutes daily for the first few weeks.

Here are some practice recommendations:
- Imagine the scale or musical passage as you practice
- Singing along will further accelerate progress
- Play the piece or passage on the piano immediately before practicing fingerings
- Practice along with a recording
- Challenge yourself to memorize individual phrases, then entire segments of your music

Evolution of Pocket Valves
We have been closely involved with the design and production of practice valvesets since 2007, when the owners of "BuzzIt" approached us with the rights to the original Jack Holland product line at the International Trumpet Guild conference. Since then, we have assisted in the design of another very well-known product line once offered from a trumpet performer in California.
We've seen inexpensive plastic injection molded variations come and go, but they all had FOUR major flaws...
1) A mouthpiece receiver for buzzing, which encourages bad habits and teaches the player two embouchure settings, rather than one
2) Pinky hook, which inhibits third finger freedom of movement and builds the habit of using excessive mouthpiece pressure
3) Large size, which is less portable and less likely to be used regularly
4) They were all made of low-end materials that fail over time
When designing Pocket Valves, our goal was to serve our Trumpet Momentum students by offering them a way to improve finger dexterity, synchronize muscle movement with the intended music, and to learn the art of visualizing and hearing what is being performed without the instrument. The art of imagining what you will perform is the secret to nearly ever prominent musician's success.
