The more affordable way to adjust gap, impedance, flexibility, and slotting!
This Set Includes:
The Venturi Measurement Tool (VMT) allowing you to easily identify your Venturi inside diameter in .003" increments from .337" to .352". The VMT also holds a full set of gap shims (sold separately) that unscrew from the base and the small end doubles as a shim kit installation and removal tool. The Gap Measurement Tool will allow you to determine the current gap of any standard trumpet and mouthpiece. Understanding Mouthpiece Gap options often holds the potential to make your least favorite horn one of the best you've ever played.
Purpose: Reducing the Gap between the mouthpiece and leadpipe could dramatically improve the playability of your current trumpet setup.
*Fits most trumpets. Email or call us if you have a rare instrument for custom sizing.

2) Determine your target gap - usually .060 to .100 inches
3) Medium & Wide Gap: Insert appropriate gap shim inside the receiver with the Venturi Measurement Tool (sold separately)

I wanted to write and tell you of my experience so far with your gap kit and hope you’ll pass it on to the others. I’ve been playing trumpet for almost 70 years and up until a very short time ago, had only heard about the gap very sporadically and even then paid it no mind … just figuring it as another gimmick. Another trumpet player I know told me he received your kit and after trying different shims, found his horn easier to play and a better sound. So I thought, “why not?” After receiving the kit, I was still skeptical, but since I had it…. After trying a few different sizes, I found one that really seemed to make a difference. The horn slotted better, intervals were easier and my upper range opened up even more and easier! I was very surprised and impressed, but knew the real test would be on the gig coming up. I play lead (my horn is a 3X MLP) and when I sat down and warmed up a bit, the first thing I noticed, was that the horn was brighter, or spoke clearer (whichever you prefer) and it was so much easier to do the slurs all the way up. Still, I waited until we started playing and I truly must tell you that my sound cut through even more than normal and with so much less effort. It even felt like I had some resistance to push against. At the end of the night I still had good G’s and everything was in tune. In short … thank you! I am now a huge fan and will tell everyone of my experience and urge them to consider your product.
Once again, thank you, it’s made me feel energized!
Sincerely,
Harry H.
I am really pleased with the GAP shims, they make my trumpet more free blowing.
