The Summit One model is a limited edition of 100 trumpets and the "Crackle" edition makes up just two of these one hundred special instruments. The Summit One edition features light weight bracing and finger rings designed to increase efficiency and increase bell resonance. This model is the best of both worlds since it is lighter than the Summit model and easier to play in terms of tone production. The dynamic range has more fidelity than any trumpet you've ever played.
Built as a great all around horn suitable for almost any playing situation including Jazz combo, symphonic band, big band, and lead, this VPS Summit One features our Venturi Gap Receiver system that offers full adjustment of flexibility, slotting, air flow and resonance. Combined with our Modular Mouthpiece system, the player is guaranteed a perfect fit in all genres thanks to a completely adjustable instrument that can be fine tuned at any time.
I designed this particular Summit One with leadpipe 3 and bell 10LT to create an incredibly versatile trumpet that will sound warm and huge in all genres much like a cornet, but with the added ability to brighten up with the right mouthpiece. This configuration creates a conical taper from the leadpipe through the bell that will play and sound much like a cornet with the correct mouthpiece. You can easily adjust tone color and attack with our modular mouthpiece system.
